HYB — Privacy Policy

What information HYB handles

HYB is a training app for hybrid fitness (Hyrox-style) racing. To build your plan, forecast, and coaching feed, it handles:

• Your profile — first/last name, division, age group and city, if you choose to enter them (all optional).
• Training data — logged sessions, session details (splits, effort, heart-rate-style metrics you enter), benchmarks you record, your goal race and target time, and your training plan and its progress.
• Settings — cue/audio preferences, theme, and similar app preferences.

HYB doesn't ask for or use your camera, your photo library, or your location.

On-device processing — nothing is uploaded to us

Your training data is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. On iOS, that same data is also mirrored into a durable on-device store so an app update or a memory-pressure reload doesn't lose it — still on your device, not sent anywhere.

We don't run analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking of any kind in HYB. Nothing about how you use the app is sent to us or to any third party.

Your own private iCloud backup (iOS)

If you're using HYB on iOS, the app can back your training data up to your own private iCloud storage — the same iCloud account signed into your phone, under Apple's privacy protections, not a SpikeTech-run server. Here's exactly how it works:

• A backup is pushed to your private iCloud automatically after you make changes, so a lost or replaced phone doesn't cost you your training history.
• Restoring is something you choose to do — HYB does not automatically pull your iCloud backup down in the background. You explicitly tap "Restore from iCloud" in Settings (for example, on a new device) before it ever reads that backup back into the app.
• You can turn this backup off in Settings at any time.
• Apple's own iCloud privacy practices govern that storage — SpikeTech has no separate copy of it and no access to it.

Heads up — this may change. We're planning a future update that adds an account-based cloud sync (so your training data can sync across devices through a hosted backend, not just iCloud), which would be a meaningful change from today's device-and-iCloud-only model. If and when that ships, we'll update this policy with a new effective date before it goes live, so you'll always know what's actually happening with your data — this document is accurate for the app as it exists today.

Permissions and why

HYB currently requests no camera, photo library, or location permissions — it doesn't need them for anything the app does. It may use local notifications (on-device reminders/training cues) if you enable them — these are scheduled by your phone, not sent from a server.

Purchases & subscriptions

HYB doesn't have a live subscription or paywall yet. When purchases do launch, they'll go through Apple's App Store / StoreKit — HYB will never see or store your payment details directly, and Apple's own purchase and subscription data collection applies under Apple's privacy policy.

No accounts, no backend (today)

There's no sign-up, login, or SpikeTech account. HYB doesn't know who you are beyond what you optionally type into your profile, and there's no server-side record of you or your training data.

Children

HYB is a fitness-training tool aimed at adults training for hybrid racing events, and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page and its effective date whenever HYB's data practices change — most notably, when the planned cloud-sync feature described above ships.
