Logga — Privacy Policy
Effective date: 16 July 2026
Logga keeps everything on your phone. There's no account, no login, and no SpikeTech server — your jobs, kilometres, receipts and photos never leave your device unless you choose to export and share them yourself (say, emailing your accountant). Logga is an organiser, not an adviser: it never files returns, calculates GST or tax, or gives financial advice.
What information Logga handles
Logga helps NZ tradies log jobs, work kilometres, and receipts, and turn them into a clean export pack for your accountant or Xero. To do that, it handles:
- Jobs you create — titles, client names, sites, dates, notes.
- Trips — start/end points, kilometres travelled, purpose, and (if you use live tracking) the GPS points recorded during a trip you start.
- Receipts — photos you take or attach, merchant name, date, amount and GST split, and any category you assign.
- Vehicles you add, and merchant/job-name shortcuts Logga learns from what you type so it can suggest them next time.
- Your name, if you choose to give it during setup — entirely optional, used only to greet you in the app.
- IRD reference rates — a starting figure you can edit; Logga treats this as a reference you confirm, never a number it calculates or asserts as your deduction.
Logga never asks for your bank details, IRD login, or Xero login, and it doesn't connect to any of them.
On-device processing — nothing is uploaded
Everything above is stored only on your device:
- Your jobs, trips, receipts and settings are stored in your phone's local app storage.
- Receipt photos are stored in a separate on-device photo store, kept out of the smaller text-data store so your phone handles them efficiently.
- Receipt scanning (turning a photo into merchant/date/amount text) runs entirely on your device using on-device OCR — the photo is never sent anywhere to be read.
- Export packs (the CSV + PDF summary + receipt photos, zipped) are also built entirely on your device.
There is no SpikeTech server behind Logga. We don't collect analytics, we don't use crash-reporting or tracking SDKs, and nothing about how you use the app is sent to us. The only network request the app itself makes is loading its own bundled pricing/configuration file — not a call to any outside server.
The one time your data leaves the app is when you tell it to. When you export a pack and share it (AirDrop, email, Save to Files, etc.), that file goes wherever you send it — that's your choice, not something Logga does on its own. If your phone backs up to iCloud or a similar device backup, your app data may be included in that backup the same way any app's local storage is — that's controlled by your device settings, not by Logga.
Permissions and why
- Camera — to photograph receipts for scanning.
- Photo library — to attach an existing receipt photo instead of taking a new one.
- Location (while using the app) — to log the distance of a work trip while you're driving it. Location is only used during a trip you've actively started, and only while the app is in use — never tracked in the background or after you stop the trip.
None of this location or photo data is sent off your device — it's used to fill in the trip/receipt record you're creating, stored locally, and that's it.
Purchases & subscriptions
Logga is a subscription app with a free trial. When you subscribe, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store — Logga never sees or stores your payment details. Apple collects the purchase/subscription information needed to process payment and manage your subscription, under Apple's own privacy policy. If your trial lapses without subscribing, Logga stays usable in read-only mode and you can always export what you've already logged — export is never locked behind a subscription.
No accounts, no backend
There's no sign-up, no login, and no SpikeTech account of any kind. Logga doesn't know who you are beyond what you optionally type into it, and there's no server-side record of you or your data anywhere.
Children
Logga is a business tool for tradies and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If Logga's data practices change (for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud backup), we'll update this page and change the effective date above.
